Diesel engines generate high temperatures through compressed air, causing the diesel injected into the cylinder to ignite and burn on its own, thereby converting thermal energy into mechanical energy. Its working process mainly includes four strokes:

Intake stroke: The piston moves from top dead center to bottom dead center, inhaling fresh air.
Compression stroke: The piston moves from bottom dead center to top dead center, compressing the air inside the cylinder and increasing its temperature and pressure.
Expansion (work) stroke: When the piston approaches top dead center, the fuel injector sprays diesel in a mist form into the combustion chamber. The diesel mixes with high-temperature and high-pressure air and ignites on its own, pushing the piston downward and driving the crankshaft to rotate through the connecting rod, outputting power.
Exhaust stroke: The piston moves from bottom dead center to top dead center, expelling the exhaust gas after combustion.
